Vicky and My Boy Flynn

My Boy Flynn (Flynn) and I

I have been riding since the age of 4 (nearly 28 years – eek) and gained a wealth of experience in many different equestrian sports & have tried most now dressage, x country, showjumping, le trec, polo, handy pony, pony club games etc & loved them all! I was in North Northumberland Pony Club and still in contact with friends who I met there.

I bought Flynn in November 2004, my first owned horse after being loaned many a crazy ponies before then!

Flynn was bought to be a ladies riding horse and a good all rounder. He was 3/4, only just backed, very gangly bought from a dealer with no breeding or known parents! We had a bumpy start when Flynn bronked me off first time I got on him at home, breaking my shoulder at the same time! We spent many months regaining my confidence as I became terrified of him. Gradually, day by day, slowly slowly, we got better and blossomed into the incredible partnership that we have today. Weve tried a bit of all sorts and hes talented in lots of sports but really took to dressage, showing that although he doesn’t have the flashiness or conformation of other dressage horses, hes so willing and desperate to please! Hes quite a horse!

Together we started from scratch working through Prelim and up to Medium, learning together all the way. We have had huge success with British Dressage and won many red rosettes and competed at Area Festivals and Regionals with various placings and competed at some amazing venues and met wonderful friends along the way. We have also won the Etal Prelim, Novice, Elementary and Medium Winter Series Championships too as well as reserve Champion for a Combined Training Championship too. Im very proud of our achievements together and weve already gone way beyond what I ever expected we would. Everything we do now is just a bonus!

Unfortunately, Flynn has had an injury for the last 10 months but all healed now and our aim for this year is to get back out and enjoy ourselves, try our best and have fun. Fingers crossed for 2015!

Looking forward to seeing Stevie at every corner with his camera, I'll make sure we are always smiling! Thanks for your support Stevie 🙂
