Floors Castle Horse Trials 2014I am a Scottish based competition rider. I had my first riding lessons at Dryden when I was 4 years old and that was it… I was addicted to riding. I have had lots of very naughty ponies and have enjoyed hunting with the JedForest Hunt and others since the age of 5. I have progressed through Pony Club achieving all of my Pony Club badges and Pony Club Tests up to my B+ test, I am currently working towards my AH Test and looking to take my UKCC teaching exam. I have produced two youngsters as a child, my 4 year old 13.1hh and my 4year old 14.2hh.

Towards the end of my 13th year I was lucky enough to help Nicky Roncoroni at NBR Eventing at weekends where I learned a lot about the care of and dealing with competition horses. I bought my first ex-racehorse at the age of 14 from Phillipa Shirely-Beven who I had been riding out for at weekends and in my holidays.
I have 2 horses for this season, Hurricane Basil and Mr Carter.

Hurricane Basil is a 13 year old Thoroughbred Gelding by Good Thyne out of Toureen Gale (Strong Gale). He is an ex-racehorse and started off with Jonjo O’Neil and then came up to local trainer Raymond Sheil at Jedburgh. Hurricane Basil raced in Hunter Chases and run in point to points.  I have owned Basil since 2010. He is a lovely horse and was the second racehorse I took on the task of re-training.

Mister Carter is an 8 year old TB gelding by Antonius Pius. Mister Carter is an ex-racehorse who was trained in Ireland by Tommy Stack and then was shipped over to Britain where he was trained by Ian Williams. Mister Carter came to me in November 2013 and began his education after racing.

The new addition for 2015 is and Tamzin Baxters little mare Brundean Saphira (Lou) this season. Lou is a TB x Connemara, 7 year old Mare, just under 15.hh and was bred locally by Nicola Leggate at Brundean Laws, Jedburgh. She is by the number 1 UK Connemara performance stallion Garryhinch Prince, and out of a TB mare Diktat/Saddlers Wells bloodlines.
